As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 situation, we are committed to keeping our community informed every step of the way.

Like many senior living communities, we are prepared and well-equipped to handle situations like this. We are taking the highest level of precaution to keep our residents, patients, and employees safe.

Our team is meeting several times a day to assess the situation and adjust our plans accordingly. We are closely monitoring recommendations from the CDC and the Tennessee Department of Health. We are screening all residents, patients, and regularly, and we are taking appropriate steps to address any possible risk.

In response to the guidelines and recommendations made by the CDC, Center for Medicare Services, TN Department of Health, and senior living/nursing home associations, we continue to review and revise our services and update protocols.

Entire Blakeford at Green Hills Campus

• We have locked all entrances in the community EXCEPT for Independent Living. We are funneling all staff and emergency visitors through the Independent Living main entrance, so we can do everything in our power to screen each person who enters and control access to the building.
• We have suspended visits from contract services such as audiology, podiatry, and non-emergent dental in Burton Court and Woodcrest.
• Residents are not permitted to visit other areas of the community
• All deliveries must come to the Independent Living entrance. If you wish to deliver any items to your loved one, they must be dropped off at the IL main entrance. Blakeford staff will deliver all items to residents.
• Only emergency visits are allowed into our community. We define emergency visits as:
o Families whose loved ones are at end of life
o Agency Staff and professional Caregivers who assist with ADLs (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming)
o Hospice providers
• All emergency visitors will still need to pass the screening that is in place before entering. That screening includes the following questions:
o Have you traveled on an international flight in the last 30 days?
o Have you traveled on a domestic flight in the last 14 days?
 Do you have signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, fever, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
o If a visitor answers “yes” to any of these questions, they will not be allowed to enter the community for 14 days.
• Emergency visitors will also have their temperature taken when they enter the building. If the temperature reads 100.4 or higher, the visitor will not be allowed to enter the community.
• No one under 16 is allowed to enter the building.
• Non-emergency visits will not be allowed

• All staff are required to have their temperatures monitored every day and to respond to the same screening questions as visitors. Team members who answer ‘yes’ to questions, and/or have a temperature of 100.4 or higher, will be sent home for 14 days.
• All staff are required to wear face masks while on campus.

Burton Court and Woodcrest

Dining Services

• The WC dining room will be limited to those that need assistance with feeding/cueing. Those residents will be seated six feet apart from each other.
• The Burton Court dining room is closed. We are providing in-room dining service for all meals in Burton Court.

Blakeford staff will be responsible for doing residents’ laundry at no charge. All laundry items will be tagged before going to the laundry. We strongly encourage taking advantage of this service. However, if you would like to do your loved one’s laundry, please call the Woodcrest or Burton Court receptionist to make other arrangements.

Group Activities
We have suspended all group activities. Residents, however, are free to leave their rooms and apartments. They must adhere to social distancing.

Additional Items
• Our Life Enrichment team is assisting residents in face-timing with family members. We can use residents’ smartphones or Blakeford iPads.
• We have suspended visits from contract services such as audiology, podiatry, and non-emergent dental in Burton Court and Woodcrest.

• All group activities, outings, and scheduled transportation are suspended. Transportation is available for critical medical appointments that cannot be postponed.
• The meeting rooms, mail room, and library are locked. Staff is distributing resident mail and newspapers each day.
• The dining room and the Bistro are closed for dining service. All meals are now to-go orders and are delivered by staff.
• Residents may make an appointment to work out in the Wellness Center. Only one resident is allowed at a time and the resident is required to wipe down the equipment they use before leaving.
